CR12.2 Continual card reader

CR12.2 is an identification card reader designed for industrial environments with the continual reading of identification cards. It is most often used in systems for the registration of employees at their workstation.

After inserting the identification card into the reader, the process of reading will commence which is periodically repeated as long as the card is inserted. After ejecting the card, a superior system is informed. Depending on the demand, the device can be equipped with more slots for inserting identification cards. Each reading slot represents one workstation.

CR12.2 allows for recording the presence of an employee at a particular workstation. It is linked to the CCU (Central Control Unit) or to the DCU (Door Control Unit) by means of RS485. Based on the information from the reader, the superior system can determine the time spent at the workstation.
